My friend and I took an adventureous trip to Ko Samui,Thailand from Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia.

This was how we did it

Sunday: We booked a overnight bus at Puduraya for two ways for RM45.00(The actual journey took about about 6 hours)I believe for commercial reasons they prolonged the journey time.The bus leave Puduraya at about 12.00 midnight.

Monday:When the bus reached Changloon,most of the passengers will came down the bus to have a break and stretched they legs,have some food,drink and some passengers changed Ringgit Malaysia into Thai Bahts,The money changer there normally give good rate to the passengers.We changed our RM into Thai Bahts there also. The bus reached there in the morning about 8.00A.M local time (9.00A.M Malaysian time)Malaysia is 1 hour a head of Thailand.We had to avoid the touts in Hadyai.We booked 2 nights stays in Hatyai at Sakura Hotel

The hotel normally received allow hotel guests to use the rooms on check in time i.e 12.00P.M.In Hatyai they were very accomodating.They allow us to check in at 8.00A.M.We brushed our teeth and a bath at the hotel and we went out to have our breakfast.After having our breakfast we walked to arrange a transport to Ko Samui for next morning.

Tuesday:We packed our bags leaved Sakura Hotel,Hatyai for Ko Samui at about 9,00AM and reached Dong Sak Pier and bought a two ferry tickets to Ko Samui island.Upon reaching island.A lot of tuk tuk line up to looked for tourists.We selected First Bungalow and stayed there for 2 nights.

Wednesday:We booked a motorcycle for 80.00 bahts.We roamed around the whole island which is about 55KM.The sights seeing in motorcycle was very enjoying.The food there was delicious.The time there was very relaxing and enjoying.This was really what people called - take a break.At night we packed our bags as we had to leave early in the morning at 6.00A.M.

Thursday:The tuk tuk came and fetched us at 6.00AM and about 20 tourists in the tuk tuk to the board the ferry to Surat Thani to board a van to Hatyai.We reached Hatyai at about 4.00PM.It was quite a long distance by van.We checked in Sakura Hotel,Hatyai again and put for 2 more nights.

Friday:We relaxed in Hatyai and enjoyed some food.My friends and I also went to experience traditional Thai massage.The massage was an eye opener to us.

Saturday:We boarded a bus which we booked our ticket earlier.We decided to book our tickets for 2 ways so that to avoid problems of over spending.We decided it will be better to secure tickets first.The Malaysian bus left Hatyai about 34.45PM Thai time.We reached Puduraya,Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia about 10.00P.M Malaysian time.

Remarks

Hatyai is a city in Southern Thailand near the boundary to Malaysia.Hatyai is the biggest city of Songkla Province. Hatyai had a tropical climate and its average temperature is 30 degrees centigrade.Malaysia also has a similar temperate except in highland areas like Cameron Highland,Genting Highland and Faser Hill with is cooler.January to April is the dry season while May to December is the wet season in Hatyai,Thailand.

Hatyai is the short version of Ma Hat Yai.Ma Hat is a type of Jack fruit tree and Yai means big in Thai language.

Ko Samui was probaly inhabited about centuries ago,settled by fishermen from Malay Peninsula and Southern China.Ko or Koh is a Thai word for "island " and " mui " is the name of one of the native tree.The local Thai sometimes called "Samui"

Starting from Chaweng Beach,I travelled by route 4169 to Lamai Beach ( to see Hinta Hinyai i.e Grandfather and Grandmother Rock).After seeing Grandfather and Grandmother Rock I went passed " Namuang Waterfall where you will have elephant trekking ".Further down the route I passed Tong Yang,Nathon,Laem Yai,Bang Por Laem Na Lan,Mae Nam(there is a beach),Bo Phut (there is a beach).From here Ientered route 4171 there is Big Buddha about 5 KM from Bo Phut and There is a Fisherman Village there.Upon reaching Cheong Mon and I went further down I reached Chaweng Beach again.Good I had completed the round island tour.
